The Wave Tool

“Typical massage techniques involve the therapist using their hands to deliver treatment. However, some areas of the body can be somewhat harder to target without the assistance of a physical therapy massage tool or edged scraping tool. General uses for tools with an edge typically involve scraping the tissue, which elicits micro-tears in the collagen fibers of the muscles and tendons. This prompts your body to produce an inflammatory response. These edge tools differ slightly from other rounded massage tools in that professionals primarily use them as muscle scraping tools. Their design helps with the breakdown of adhesions and scar tissue and to stimulate healing, while treatments such as foam rolling focus more on decreasing trigger points and improving flexibility. Furthermore, these tools are great for saving time—they can provide better results in a quicker fashion.” Taken form the website: https://wavetoolstherapy.com/physical-therapy-massage-tools

What Is Hot Stone Therapy?

Hot Stone Massage is an ancient practice that uses heated natural  stones that are placed on precise points along the body to create soothing pressure. These stones are rich in Iron and so retain heat longer. Swedish Massage is performed by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of the blood returning to the heart to enhance the positive effect of this Massage. The therapist uses a mix of Basalt and Jade stones to achieve optimal effects.

  • Helps with pain relief especially in people with conditions such as fibromyalgia and other autoimmune disorders
  • Aids in stress reduction by improving cardiovascular responses
  • Promotes sleep by reducing sleep disturbances, improving quality of sleep, and enhancing comfort level.
  • Boosts immunity by increasing lymphocytes which help white blood cells fight infection in the body.
